THE DANCE CAMP FAMILY

WE ARE THE "DANCE CAMP FAMILY"
THE DANCE CAMP is a family project. We are a family of enthusiasts who have decided to share and pass on their passion for dance for sport and health.
We are a young, multilingual team from Switzerland and France. All trainers are specialists in their field and have their own success stories to tell. Our camp team stands for community, diversity and passion. No matter where we come from or who we are, the most important thing is that we respect each other. And that's exactly what we do at our dance camp. We have also placed a focus on racism-critical teaching and are very consciously guiding all our leaders in the process of becoming more aware of children and young people as well as our environment.
WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL
Switzerland-wide and cultural exchange
Multicultural integration is important to us. At "THE DANCE CAMP", children of different languages come together. All leaders can express themselves in several languages. The aim is to overcome certain hurdles in the other language and to develop friendships that reach beyond the Röstigraben. Experience has shown that the children suddenly find it easier to attend French or German lessons after the summer vacations.
Dance teachers with experience
Self-confidence, social skills, musicality and a sense of rhythm, coordination, creativity, balance and stability, body awareness and many other skills are among the positive effects of dance and movement that we want to impart in our dance camps. Our experienced dance instructors offer structural, pedagogically meaningful and sports science-based lessons.
Diversity
All of our experts attended a training course organized by ƒome collective, which covered pedagogical, didactic and socially critical topics. The dance teachers receive teaching materials with teaching examples and can learn and benefit from each other through mutual exchange. Our training aims to sensitize the experts to topics such as sexism, racism and classism in order to create a space in which such mechanisms of discrimination are not reproduced. In this way, we enable a long-term and sustainable impact on the participants that goes beyond the project period.
The environment is close to our hearts
We take people and the environment into consideration and try to run our dance camps as sustainably as possible. We therefore ask participants to refrain from using pet bottles during the camp - and perhaps also afterwards. Our kitchen team endeavors to buy seasonal, regional, preferably unpackaged and, if possible, organic products. We can also enjoy vegetarian and homemade dishes throughout the week. Our goodies should also be sensible and ethical. We want to maintain this very high standard in all future vacation camps, as we as camp providers and trainers also have to set an example. No one is too small to make a difference and inspire others.
