MISSION STATEMENT
ABOUT OUR SELF-IMAGE AND OUR BASIC PRINCIPLES
Our vision
We are convinced that art, sport and culture should be accessible to everyone - regardless of social or financial barriers. Our programs are aimed at young and old from different social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Our goal is to create an inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to participate in our diverse offerings.
Switzerland-wide cultural exchange
Multicultural integration is important to us. Our projects bring together multilingual participants from all over Switzerland and abroad. We promote exchange and the development of friendships across language barriers and social differences.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a central aspect of our work. We make sure that our projects are not only sustainable in terms of content, but also ecologically. When it comes to catering and materials, we focus on regionality and avoid environmentally harmful products such as plastic bottles and imported textiles. In this way, we ensure that our offers are respectful of both people and the environment.
Anti-discriminatory action
We actively campaign against discrimination in all its forms. Our projects should ensure safe participation for all people and not reproduce mechanisms such as sexism, racism or classism. We strive to make our movements and offers as diverse and non-discriminatory as possible so that we can strengthen each other.
Promoting dance culture
Thanks to the open accessibility and authenticity of our projects, we reach people from a wide range of social and ethnic backgrounds. By sharing a common interest in dance culture, we aim to overcome differences and promote sustainable integration. Our aim is to create a vibrant dance culture throughout Switzerland and to promote the joy of music, dance, art and movement.
Equal opportunities
In Switzerland, children and young people often have unequal starting opportunities, which determine how much culture they can experience. Children living on the poverty line are particularly affected by major social restrictions. It is therefore important to us that everyone can benefit from our offers, regardless of education, income or background.
To realize this aspiration, we have set up the CULTURE FOR ALL Fund into being. This fund is financed by initiatives such as door collections at events and the sale of camp shirts, from which part of the proceeds go directly to the fund. We also work according to the sliding scale principle to motivate financially strong participants to support financially weaker ones. In this way, we enable more people to take part in our offers.
Learning from the past to define the future
The history of dance is deeply rooted in human history. To understand how we got to our current dance culture, we need to look at the past. At our camps, we not only teach dance skills, but also knowledge about the origins and cultural significance of different dance styles. In this way, we foster a deep understanding of dance and the motivations that drive people to dance.
